The following new and updated telescope drivers are available for SkyMap Pro. To install a new driver, click on a link to download it, and save it in the 'Drivers' subdirectory of the SkyMap Pro installation directory.
Selecting the 'Telescope/Configure' menu item from within the program should then automatically show the name of the new device. The driver stores its configuration data (which scope has been configured) under the Skymap registry key 'HKEYCURRENTUSER Software SkyMap Software ASCOM Driver ID'. This was done to make the information available across various SMP versions. The principle advantage of the ASCOM driver is that it allows shared access to the telescope (well at least some of them) with other ASCOM compliant applications. The ASCOM runtime environment must be installed for the driver to work.
